As a boy growing up in Hungary, I developed a passion for wrestling at the age of 9. I loved my sport, was good at it, was dedicated, disciplined and competed at a national level. When my local club was forced to close down I shifted my focus to boxing because it was available locally and it kept me active, but I was never as dedicated as I had been to the wrestling. I was very active until the age of 19 when I decided it was time to look at the things I’d been missing out on during my young teenage years while my friends were out partying and meeting girls. I discovered that partying and girls were actually a lot of fun so that became my new ‘sport’. Every year during my 20’s I gained a little more weight, which I did not like and would do crash diets which gave me the results I wanted but of course, once back to the “normal” eating, I would gain it all back again plus more.
I moved to Australia in 2009 and continued to be quite complacent about my body and my appearance. Sure I might be a bit jealous every now and then of fit looking guys but as far as I was concerned I belonged in the ordinary ‘dads group’ and I thought I was comfortable there. Looking back, I can see that I was becoming increasingly miserable and angry with the world and these emotions were beginning to infiltrate in both my marriage and my workplace. I’d try a couple of diets with my wife Beata that would last about a month, but they were not sustainable, so we would both give up.
Beata had started F.I.R.E with It’s Personal Transformation and was loving it. She would continuously try to encourage me to join ‘the crew’ but to no avail. I had known Rineke Leigh (MP Trainer) since before her own transformation and seeing her results, her transformation, is what inspired me and made me wonder if there really was something more sustainable I could do. If it worked for her I felt it would work for me. I started out just doing I.C.E classes and my fitness levels quickly improved and my weight and composition started to change. By the time I joined the F.I.R.E crew and started taking my progress photos, I had already lost 5kg which was a real driver for me to do more. Adding F.I.R.E and nutrition to my program became the game changer – the weight loss motivated me, but seeing my lean muscle mass improve and my tone and composition was the most rewarding. The changes I was seeing were taking my body back to a place it hadn’t seen since my late teens and the confidence that gave me melted those miserable and angry
emotions away. I had a body I’m proud of and a lifestyle that I can maintain. Beata and I now train together and she is also showcasing her amazing transformation. The catchphrase couples who train together stay together really is true, in fact I would say it saved my marriage. I’m proud to show my kids that age isn’t something that just happens to you, it’s something you take control of. I’ve found a way to lead and steer the outcome rather than being a passive passenger, and because the changes I’ve embedded in my life have been built gradually they generate a new confidence each time that another small change is also achievable. I’m so happy I started my training at Its Personal Transformation – these two ladies truly are transformation specialists, both in the way they demonstrate that in their own lives, but also in the passion they instil in all the people they come in contact with. I’m looking forward to seeing where my MP journey takes me – I’m not even going to try to predict where it finishes because I know it never will!
